Spa Villa
An anniversary celebration in Goa works at three scales: a sunset dinner for two, a two-night stay by the beach, or a family party. At Marbela Beach Resort on Morjim, those map to a table at Meso, a Spa Villa Room or Luxury Cottage, and the sea-view VIP Terrace, which seats 60.

Restaurant
Mediterranean and Middle Eastern plates in a bamboo pavilion by the sea, 11 AM–11 PM.
Events
Beachfront lawn, VIP Terrace for 60 and AC Deck Lounge for private bookings.
Decide the scale before the place, because an anniversary for two and a 40th for your parents need different things. A couple marking a fifth year usually wants privacy, a good table at sunset and a room worth lingering in. Grown children planning a ruby or golden anniversary need seating for relatives, food older guests can manage and a space that stays cool. For a couple, the quieter beaches north of the Chapora river (Morjim, Ashwem and Mandrem) give sunsets without the Baga crowds. For a family party, the deciding factors are a seated venue, rooms close by and a date outside the monsoon. Marbela has a small place in anniversary history. According to a Santabanta report published on 31 December 2010, Hrithik Roshan threw a party for friends at Marbela Beach the day after his tenth wedding anniversary, with a cake made by the resort's chef. The resort's own restaurant page gives the year as 2011. Today the sea-view VIP Terrace can be booked privately.
Each scale has its own setting at Marbela and its own phone number.

This plan assumes a January visit, when the sun sets between about 6:15 and 6:30 PM.
The Spa Villa Room is the strongest choice for an anniversary at Marbela. It is the newest category, and each one has a private outdoor spa area and an open-air shower among garden views. It isn't sold on the booking engine, so book it through reservations. That outdoor space is the point: somewhere private between the beach and dinner. Expect a spa area, not a pool or a jacuzzi. Luxury Cottages are the alternative, set among gardens a few steps from the sea, each with a private verandah for a drink before dinner. The Beach Suite is also bookable online. EaseMyTrip lists it at about 420 sq ft with a garden view, but listings disagree on the view, so ask. Most Marbela rooms face the gardens rather than the sea. For a sea view, the restaurant and VIP Terrace do the job better than any room. Rates change daily on the booking engine and bookings are non-refundable. Our Spa Villa guide has more.
An anniversary date can't move, so plan around the season it lands in. November to February is dry and pleasant, and also the busiest and most expensive time, with Christmas to New Year the peak. Book rooms and tables early, and note that Marbela does not permit check-out on 31 December. March to May is hotter and quieter. Choose an evening on the terrace or a lunch in the air-conditioned deck lounge. June to September is monsoon: the sea is closed for swimming, many shacks shut and outdoor beach events are unsuitable, but Goa turns green and rates drop. Ask the resort which dining spaces are open on your dates, and read our guide to Goa in July and August first. October sits in between, with shacks reopening after the rains. From late December to March, turtles nest on Morjim, so night walks on the sand should stay torch-free.
December has one more thing to know. The White Party has been Marbela's season party since 2010, and the December 2016 edition included a Falguni Shane Peacock fashion show. Parties mean music. Google reviewers raise noise at night as a weak spot, so ask reservations whether an event falls on your dates and which rooms sit furthest from it.
A family anniversary works best when it is planned around the oldest guests.
Three contacts cover everything. Book rooms with reservations on +91 91588 81185 or +91 91588 81183, and mention the occasion. Reserve dinner at Meso on +91 91588 81184 or through the online table booking. For the terrace, deck lounge or lawn, call the events team on +91 91588 81180 or +91 91588 81181. More ideas for two are in romantic resorts in Goa for couples, and bigger gatherings are covered in private event spaces on the beach.
No anniversary packages are published. Call reservations on +91 91588 81185 to plan a stay, and the events team on +91 91588 81180 for a private dinner or party.
No. Outside food is not allowed at Marbela, so ask the resort's Pâtisserie, Bakery & Café about ordering a cake.
Yes, for green landscapes and lower rates, but not for beach time. The sea is closed for swimming from June to September and many shacks shut, so plan indoor dining.
Room decoration is not published as a service. Mention the occasion when you book with reservations on +91 91588 81185 and ask what can be arranged.
Couples treatments are not confirmed. Marbela Spa offers bespoke treatments, so ask the resort about the menu and whether two people can be booked together.
