Beach Club
Sunbeds, private cabanas, pool and house music, 11 AM–10 PM daily.
A sunset party in North Goa peaks in one hour, and that hour moves through the year: the sun sets around 6 PM in late November and after 7 PM in June. At Marbela Beach Club in Morjim the DJ's sunset set follows it. Arrive about 90 minutes early, stay for dinner, and know the club shuts at 10 PM.

Sunset in North Goa falls between 6:01 PM and 7:09 PM, according to timeanddate's 2026 figures for Panaji, the nearest listed city. Morjim is about a minute off those times.
| Date | Sunset (Panaji, 2026) | What the sky tends to do |
|---|---|---|
| 1 November | 6:05 PM | Clearer after the rains |
| Mid-November to early December | 6:01 PM, the earliest | Clear, early; the season's busiest evenings |
| End of December | 6:13 PM | New Year week crowds |
| 1 January | 6:15 PM | Dry and dependable |
| End of January | 6:31 PM | Dry and dependable |
| 1 March | 6:42 PM | Warmer, some haze on the horizon |
| 1 June | 7:02 PM | Monsoon cloud often hides the sun |
| Late June to mid-July | 7:09 PM, the latest | A clear sunset is a bonus |
Morjim faces west over the Arabian Sea, so the sun drops into open water rather than behind hills. That is why the whole strip, from the sand to the terraces, turns towards the sea at the same moment.
Plan to reach a sunset party in North Goa about 90 minutes before the sun goes down. That buffer covers finding a sunbed, ordering before the bar gets busy, and the traffic that builds on the roads into Morjim in the late afternoon. Take a December Saturday as the worked example. Sunset on 15 December is 6:06 PM. From Anjuna the drive is 35–45 minutes, crossing the Chapora river on the Siolim bridge, and from Vagator it is 25–35 minutes. Leave Anjuna by 3:45 PM and you arrive around 4:30 PM, with time for a swim between the red-and-yellow flags before the light turns. Leave at 5:30 PM and you will probably watch the sun set from a taxi on the bridge. In June the same plan shifts an hour later, though the sky is less likely to cooperate. Groups should add another half hour, because someone is always late.
The right sunset spot depends on whether you want music, a meal, a private group or simply the view.
| Spot | What you get | Trade-off | Choose it for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marbela Beach Club | Sunbeds, cabanas, pool, house music, sunset DJ set | Closes at 10 PM; busiest on weekends | A sunset party |
| Meso restaurant | Bamboo pavilion, sea-view tables, dinner until 11 PM | Book a table for sunset in season | A sunset dinner for two |
| VIP Terrace | Open-air sea-view lounge seating 60 | Private booking through the events team | Birthdays and group celebrations |
| Chapora Fort | The hilltop from Dil Chahta Hai, looking across the estuary | 13–15 km away, crowded, no bar | The postcard view, once |
A walk on Morjim sand at dusk costs nothing and is lovely, but Goa bans drinking alcohol on beaches. Deccan Herald reports fines of ₹2,000 for an individual and ₹10,000 for a group under a 2019 amendment. Keep the drinks at the venue.
The sunset set is the loudest hour at Marbela Beach Club, and the evening that follows is shorter than many visitors expect. The club runs until 10 PM, so after sunset you have roughly three hours of music, cocktails and the pool lit up at night. The evening entertainment here is DJ-led house music from resident and guest DJs, not a stage show, so check the resort's Instagram or newsletter for guest DJ dates before you pick a night. Dinner is the natural second act. Meso serves coastal Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food until 11 PM, and the Italian Seafood Platter at ₹1,600 (listed price, may change) is built for sharing. Anyone who wants to carry on past 11 PM should plan a cab to Vagator or Anjuna rather than hoping the party will stretch. Our sunset dining guide covers the calmer, table-first version of the evening.
Past parties at Marbela Beach show how the sunset slot has been used, though none of these is a current offer. The White Party, Marbela's season party since 2010, was listed on GigHub for 28 December 2022 with a 5 PM session and a later 9 PM one, and the dress code was strictly white. Through the 2022–23 season, Djuma Soundsystem presented IZIKI every Sunday from 2 to 10 PM, an afro-house afternoon with free entry before 5 PM, live percussion, fire dancers and a bonfire. In other words, people who arrived before the light turned gold paid nothing to get in. Line-ups, prices and dress codes change every season, and the club does not publish them far in advance, so check the newsletter on the beach club page or message the resort before planning a night around an event.
From late December to March, Morjim is a protected Olive Ridley turtle nesting beach managed by the Goa Forest Department, and the evening habits of party-goers matter. Bright lights and loud noise on the sand disturb nesting females. After dark, keep phone torches pointed down, stay well away from the fenced nesting areas, and follow any instructions from forest staff. Most nests are laid from January to March, which overlaps with the best sunset weather, so this is a real consideration rather than a footnote. Enjoy the party at the venue and treat the beach itself as a quiet zone once the light has gone. The Morjim turtle beach guide explains how the hatchery works and when eggs are likely to hatch, about 45–52 days after they are laid.
Sunbed and cabana rates are not published, so WhatsApp +91 91588 81185 with your date and group size. Book a Meso table on the online table booking page or call +91 91588 81184. For the VIP Terrace, call the events team on +91 91588 81180. The full-day plan and opening hours are in our beach club hours guide.
Any west-facing beach gives you the sun dropping into the sea, including Morjim, Ashwem, Vagator and Anjuna. Choose by what you want around it: a beach club, a quiet walk or the view from Chapora Fort.
The club plays house music all day from resident and guest DJs, with sunset sets. For guest DJ dates, follow the newsletter on the beach club page or the resort's Instagram.
Yes, a table at Meso restaurant also looks out over the sea. Book one in season, because sunset tables go first.
Sometimes, but not reliably. From June to September heavy cloud often covers the horizon, so treat a clear monsoon sunset as a bonus.
About two hours before sunset. The drive takes 25–35 minutes over the Siolim bridge, and you want time to settle in before the light goes.
