Beachfront lawn, VIP Terrace for 60 and AC Deck Lounge for private bookings.
Plan a birthday party on the beach in Goa by choosing the space for your group size first: a cabana at a beach club for a small group, a sea-view terrace for a seated party, or a beachfront lawn for a crowd. At Marbela in Morjim, the VIP Terrace seats 60 and the beach club runs 11 AM–10 PM, so build the evening around sunset.

Group size decides the venue more than budget does, because each space at a beachfront resort suits a different kind of party. These are the options at Marbela, with what to ask about each.
| Group | Space | Works for | Ask about |
|---|---|---|---|
| A few friends | Sunbeds at the beach club | A casual afternoon and sunset | Reserving beds side by side |
| Small group | Private cabana with personalised service | Your own shaded base all day | How many people it covers, minimum spend |
| Seated party up to 60 | VIP Terrace, open-air with sea views | Dinner, speeches, the cake at sunset | Menu options and exclusive use |
| Private dinner indoors | AC Deck Lounge | Hot April–May evenings or monsoon nights | Private booking terms |
| Large crowd | Beachfront outdoor lawn | Big birthdays with a DJ | A written capacity, because listings disagree |
For the lawn, listings disagree. WedMeGood (as of September 2026) lists the Beach Lounge at 700 seated, while BookEventz (updated 30 March 2025) gives 500 theatre-style, so ask the events team for a written figure. Private parties are nothing new here: a Santabanta report describes actor Hrithik Roshan's anniversary party for friends at Marbela Beach in December 2010.
A birthday party on the open sand in Goa is harder than it looks, and mostly for legal reasons. Beaches in India are public, so no resort can rent you a private stretch of beach. Goa also bans drinking alcohol in open public places, including beaches, with fines of ₹2,000 per person and ₹10,000 for a group, according to Deccan Herald. That rules out a drinks party on the sand itself. The practical answer is a beachfront venue with direct beach access, where the party happens a few steps from the water and guests can wander down for photos. Morjim adds one more rule of good sense. From late December to March it is an Olive Ridley turtle nesting beach, protected by the Goa Forest Department, and bright lights and loud noise on the sand disturb nesting turtles. Keep sparklers, torches and speakers off the beach after dark in those months, and stay away from the fenced nesting areas. The party itself can be as loud as the venue allows.
Sunset is the strongest slot for a Goa beach birthday, with the cake brought out as the sun drops, between 6:01 PM (mid-November to early December) and 7:09 PM (late June to mid-July), per timeanddate's figures for Panaji. A lunch party suits families with children and older relatives, who will be happier out of the sun by 4 PM. A dinner party is easier for guests arriving from Anjuna or Vagator after work or sightseeing. Whichever you pick, remember the clock. The beach club closes at 10 PM and Meso restaurant at 11 PM, so a party that starts at 8 PM has two to three hours. Guests driving in from Anjuna need 35–45 minutes, and the Siolim bridge gets slow in the evening. Ask guests to arrive an hour before sunset. The photographs from the last half hour of daylight are the ones people keep.
Settle these points in writing, on email or WhatsApp, before any money changes hands.
December birthdays in Goa need booking weeks ahead, not days. Christmas to New Year is the busiest stretch of the Goa calendar, and weekends in December fill early. Marbela's own December parties have leaned on dress codes: the White Party, held every season since 2010, was strictly white on 28 December 2022, and Christmas Eve with PAJI on 24 December 2022 asked for red and white. Neither is a current offer, but a dress code is an easy theme to borrow. A birthday that falls on 31 December has an extra wrinkle for anyone staying at the resort: check-out on 31 December is not permitted, so a stay that includes that date must continue to 1 January or later. Plan the room booking and the party booking together. Check whether the resort has its own New Year's Eve event, because that may change which spaces can be booked privately that night.

No, outside food is not allowed. The resort has a Pâtisserie, Bakery & Café, so ask whether it can make a cake when you book.
It seats 60 guests. For a larger party, ask the events team about the beachfront lawn and its confirmed capacity for your date.
Yes, but plan for rain. The sea is closed for swimming from roughly June to September, so an indoor option such as the AC Deck Lounge is the safer booking.
For December and long weekends, several weeks ahead. Outside peak season a week or two is often enough for a cabana, but private spaces need more notice.
