Goa in November: the season is open and Christmas is still weeks away
Yes, November is a good month for Goa. The monsoon is over, the sea reopens between the lifeguards' flags, shacks and markets are back, and the Christmas crowds are still weeks away. It is the start of peak season, so rates rise through the month, and IFFI (20–28 November 2026) adds visitors in Panaji.

Is November a good time to visit Goa?
November is one of the better months to visit Goa, especially for a beach holiday that doesn't touch Christmas. It sits between October, when shacks are still being rebuilt after the monsoon, and December, the busiest and most expensive month of the year. By November the dry season has settled, lifeguards set out their red-and-yellow flags again and the countryside keeps some of its post-monsoon green. Registered water-sports operators are back at Calangute, Baga and Candolim, working 8 AM to 6:30 PM or sunset under the state's water sports policy. The downside is price. November is officially peak season, so room rates climb as the month goes on, and late-November weekends fill first. Sunsets come early: timeanddate gives 6:05 PM on 1 November and 6:01 PM from mid-month for Panaji. Be on the sand by about 5:30 PM if you want to watch the sun go down.
Early November or late November?
The first half of November is usually calmer and the second half more settled, so pick by what bothers you more: a stray shower or a busier beach.

What is open in Goa in November?
Almost everything a beach visitor needs is open by mid-November, with a few things restarting through the month.
- Beaches: Drishti lifeguards mark the swim zone with red-and-yellow flags. A red flag means stay out.
- Anjuna Flea Market: Wednesdays in season, from about late October, roughly 10 AM to sunset. Our guide to the Anjuna market from Morjim covers the trip.
- Saturday Night Market, Arpora: runs in season; check this year's opening weekend locally.
- Mapusa market: Fridays, according to Goa Tourism (GTDC).
- Beach clubs and restaurants: most are back to full service. On Morjim, Marbela's beach club opens 11 AM–10 PM daily and Meso restaurant 11 AM–11 PM.
Festivals, film and turtles
November's calendar has three things worth planning around. The International Film Festival of India, IFFI, runs in Panaji from 20 to 28 November in 2026 and brings extra visitors and traffic to the capital, so either time your Panaji day trip around it or join in. Diwali falls in October or November depending on the year, and in Goa the night before is marked by burning Narakasura effigies in towns and villages; check this year's date. November is too early for Morjim's Olive Ridley turtles. Daijiworld reported the first nests of the last two seasons on 25 December 2024 and 26 December 2025, and most nests are laid January–March. Choose November for easier bookings and a calmer beach, and December for festivals and New Year atmosphere in the busiest month of the year.

Planning a November arrival
November arrivals go smoothly when your flight and the 2:00 PM check-in line up. Land at Mopa at 11 AM and you can be at Morjim, about 28 km away, around 12:15, with nearly two hours before rooms are ready, which lunch by the sea and a walk on the beach fill easily. From Dabolim, about 55 km, allow 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. No resort shuttle is confirmed. Mopa's airport site lists a Goa Taxi app counter, GoaMiles and MegaCabs, and a sedan to Morjim typically costs about ₹1,000–1,500.
