The shared outdoor pool sits beside Marbela Beach Club, which runs 11 AM–10 PM with sunbeds, cabanas and house-music DJ sets. Meso, the resort's bamboo restaurant, serves Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food from 11 AM to 11 PM, with plates such as a Moroccan fish kebab at ₹720 and an Italian seafood platter at ₹1,600. The dependable sea views are from Meso, the VIP Terrace (it seats 60) and the AC Deck Lounge. Most rooms look onto gardens. The resort holds a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award, and Mopa airport is about 28–30 km away.

Who should book somewhere other than Morjim?

Four kinds of traveller will be happier on another stretch of coast, and it's better to know that now.

• Late-night clubbers. Marbela's beach club closes at 10 PM. Stay in Anjuna or Vagator.
• People who want to walk to Baga's bars. From Morjim that's a taxi ride, not a stroll.
• Anyone set on a private pool villa. The pool at Marbela is shared.
• Travellers who need a guaranteed sea-view bedroom. Ask reservations which rooms face the sea before booking.
