What is inside a Marbela Family Room?
A Marbela Family Room is two rooms in one booking: a master bedroom for the parents and an additional room for children, grandparents or friends, taking up to four adults in all. The resort lists Wi-Fi, a tea and coffee maker, a minibar, a hair dryer and satellite TV. The layout is the point. With young children, a second room means one parent can read or watch TV after an early bedtime without sitting in the dark, and with teenagers it gives everyone a door to close. Like most rooms at Marbela, the Family Room faces the gardens rather than the sea, and the beach is a short walk away through the resort. The room is the one category built for more than two people. A couple travelling with one small child can manage in any room type, but a family of four with children over six will almost always be better off here than squeezing into a cottage or Villa Room with extra bedding.
How much do children cost at Marbela?
Children up to 6 stay free in the room without an extra bed, children above 12 pay the adult rate of ₹2,360 per night with an extra mattress, and the policy for ages 7 to 12 isn't published, so ask.
| Child's age | Charge | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 6 | Free, no extra bed | Parents and a 4-year-old: no child charge |
| 7 to 12 | Not published; ask reservations | A 9-year-old: confirm before booking |
| Above 12 | Charged as an adult, ₹2,360 per night with an extra mattress | A 14-year-old on a mattress for 4 nights: ₹9,440 |
In a Family Room, older children may simply count towards the four-adult capacity, so ask reservations how your party is priced in that room.
Which room types work for a family of 4, 6 or 10?
Four fits one Family Room; six or ten means combining rooms. A party of six can take a Family Room plus a Luxury Cottage or Villa Room for grandparents or another couple. Ten people fit two Family Rooms plus a couple room. Ask reservations to place the rooms close together, and read our group stay guide for bigger parties.
How safe is the sea at Morjim for young children?
Morjim Beach is one of the gentler North Goa beaches for families, with water that stays shallow for some distance from the shore, but the sea still changes with tides and currents. Drishti lifeguards patrol Goa's beaches, and children should swim only between the red-and-yellow flags, with an adult in the water beside them. From roughly June to September red flags go up and nobody swims, so a monsoon family trip is about the pool and the rain, not the sea. From about November to March, Morjim is an Olive Ridley turtle nesting site: children love hearing about the fenced Forest Department hatchery, where eggs incubate for about 45–55 days, but they need to keep back from it and leave torches off on the beach after dark. The midday sun on the sand is harsh, so plan beach time for the morning and late afternoon. Keep India's emergency number, 112, in every adult's phone. Our page on swimming at Morjim goes further.
Food, the pool and bedtimes
Meso opens at 11 AM and serves pizzas, grilled fish, salads and kebabs until 11 PM, so fussy eaters are covered. Outside food isn't allowed, so ask reservations in advance about baby food or special diets. The outdoor pool is shared and sits beside the beach club, which plays house music from 11 AM to 10 PM; it's lively in the day and quiet after closing. Pets are welcome too, if the family dog is coming.
What should parents confirm before booking?
Confirm these five things with reservations first.
- Pricing for children aged 7 to 12
- Whether breakfast is in your rate
- Extra mattress availability
- Early check-in, since standard check-in is 2 PM
- Photo ID for every adult at check-in

FAQs
How many people fit in a Family Room at Marbela?
Up to four adults. The room has a master bedroom plus an additional room.
Do children stay free at Marbela?
Children up to 6 stay free in the room without an extra bed. Children above 12 are charged as adults, ₹2,360 per night with an extra mattress.
Is North Goa or South Goa better for families?
Both work. Quieter North Goa beaches such as Morjim and Ashwem suit families who want calm beaches and easy airport access from Mopa; our North vs South Goa families guide compares them.
Does the Family Room have a sea view?
It isn't sold as sea-facing, since most rooms at Marbela look onto gardens. Ask reservations if a sea view matters.
Are there activities for kids at the resort?
No kids' club is listed. Families use the shared pool, the beach, and day trips such as Chapora Fort, and the resort doesn't run water sports.
