Spa Villa
For a honeymoon resort in Goa, look to the quieter northern beaches such as Morjim and choose a room with outdoor space of its own. Then plan around the calendar: India's wedding season overlaps with Goa's busiest, dearest weeks, and a few weeks' delay can buy a calmer beach and turtle-nesting season.

As soon after the wedding as your budget allows, but not blindly. India's wedding season overlaps with Goa's peak from November to February, when the weather is dry and pleasant and rooms are at their busiest and dearest. A wedding in mid-December puts the honeymoon straight into Christmas and New Year, the hardest week of the year to book. At Marbela Beach Resort, check-out on 31 December isn't permitted, so a honeymoon over New Year has to include that night. Couples who can wait a few weeks gain a lot. Late January and February are still dry, the beach is calmer after the holiday rush, and Olive Ridley turtles are at their nesting peak on Morjim between January and March. March is hotter and quieter again. The monsoon from June to September is green and cheaper, but the sea is closed for swimming. Whenever you go, book flights before the room, because the room is non-refundable.
For most honeymooners the choice is between outdoor privacy and closeness to the sea, and Marbela has one room built around each.
| Room | Why couples pick it | Think twice if |
|---|---|---|
| Spa Villa Room | Newest rooms, each with a private outdoor spa area and open-air shower | You want to see the sea; these face gardens |
| Luxury Cottage | Private verandah among gardens, steps from the Arabian Sea | An outdoor bathing space matters more than the walk to the sand |
| Premium Cottage | Soft natural light in garden surroundings | You want outdoor space of your own |
| Villa Room | Garden-view balcony or verandah | You plan long lazy days in the room |
| Beach Suite | Listed with a separate living area and balcony | Its view and size aren't yet confirmed with reservations |
The Spa Villa guide goes deeper on the room most couples ask about.
Five days is enough to rest first and explore second, and the plan below assumes a December or January trip, when sunset comes at roughly 6 PM.
You can, but you may do better building your own. Marbela doesn't publish a set honeymoon package, so you pay only for the pieces you want. Start with the room on the booking engine and choose a rate with breakfast if you want mornings sorted; the spread includes Mediterranean, Indian and Continental options. Book dinner at Meso on +91 91588 81184. The Italian Seafood Platter (₹1,600 on the listed menu) is built for two. For a dinner away from other tables, the events team arranges anniversary dinners and private celebrations and can advise on the VIP Terrace, an open-air sea-view lounge, or the air-conditioned AC Deck Lounge. Order a cake from the pâtisserie. Cabana prices aren't published, so call or WhatsApp for the day's rate. Bundled packages elsewhere often include airport transfers and sightseeing you'd plan differently yourself, so read what a package contains before assuming it saves money. Our couples spa guide covers treatments.
Most honeymoon hiccups are paperwork and timing, not the resort.
Check live rates on the Marbela booking engine, then call reservations on +91 91588 81185 or +91 91588 81183 to ask about views and room location. For a private dinner, ring the events team on +91 91588 81180. Still weighing up where in Goa to go? Compare areas in best honeymoon destinations in Goa.
Four to five nights lets you rest for two days and explore for two. Shorter trips lose half a day at each end to the 2 PM check-in and 11 AM check-out.
Morjim suits couples flying into Mopa who want a quiet beach with good food on site. South Goa is a longer drive from Mopa, so it makes more sense if you land at Dabolim.
No. Each Spa Villa Room has a private outdoor spa area and an open-air shower. The resort's outdoor pool by the beach club is shared.
Decoration isn't a published service. Ask reservations on +91 91588 81185 when you book what can be arranged.
It suits couples who like rain, green scenery and lower rates. The sea is closed for swimming from roughly June to September and many shacks shut, so plan around the pool and restaurants.
